Jessica Broscheit

Researcher
Student of Computer Science (Ph.D.)

Jessica creates multisensory experiences to explore the relationship between human and environment in the field of human-computer interaction. Her clear sense for artistic as much as functional design makes for an advanced visual rhetoric that fabricates artifacts linking both the material and the cognitive dimension. To this end, she uses various materials and digital manufacturing technologies (e.g., laser cutting and stereolithography).

She currently works as a researcher for the FTZ SMSY at the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg). There she conceives, designs, and implements physical interfaces for human-computer interaction in ubiquitous computing environments (e.g., Living Place lab). In addition, she supervises projects and runs participatory workshops. Her research interests include physical data representation, tangible interaction, and environmental sensing.
