Jan Schwarzer, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Researcher
Jan is a trained IT specialist for software application development and holds a bachelor’s degree in applied computer science, a master’s degree in computer science, as well as a doctorate degree in computer science.
His research builds on recent developments in the HCI and CSCW disciplines as regard to the evaluation of socially embedded technology. More specifically, Jan largely devotes his research efforts on scrutinising large and interactive screens (so-called „ambient displays“) in authentic agile software development teams. To this end, his work, on the one hand, concerns issues surrounding the principal conduct of long-term studies in such environments and, on the other hand, elaborates on suitable methodological approaches to scientifically accompany in-the-wild research.
In the CSTI laboratory, Jan’s main tasks are the supervision of theses, the administration of the CSTI website and the coordination of the HopE project.
